Neville was the eldest child of George Ernest Ginns (b1888 in Orange, NSW) and Amy Jane Baker (b1890 in Spring Terrace, Milthorpe, NSW). George (a Farmer) and Amy married in 1912 in Spring Terrace and settled in Huntley, Orange NSW where George was a Farmer.

In 1937 Neville was a Farmer at Huntley nr Orange NSW when he and Patience Gander (b1915 in Orange, NSW) married. Neville served with the ACMF (Private; Service No:N351197) - 26 Battalion VDC - from December 1941 to November 1943. He died in 1955 and Patience in 2005.
