Rejoining the 23rd Battalion on 9 October 1918, PTE MILLS would again be hospitalised a short time  on 19 October 1918, suffering from influenza. He would be transferred to the 3rd Australian General Hospital and later the Australian Convalescent Depot in Havre. PTE MILLS was discharged from hospital on 5 December 1918.
