Bootle is an alternative name for Bootle Cul  in the county of Cumberland

He features in the Millom Gazette Servicemen Index (7th August 1914 to 29th May 1925)

His brother fell whilst serving with British forces; he was Private William James Fell, Service Number 44888-2nd Bn. Lincolnshire Regiment-Died 29/09/1918.

They were sons of Mrs. Honor Fell, of Kirkland, Lamplugh, Workington, England.

They are both remembered on the Lamplugh War Memorial.
