Commenced return to Australia on 9 February 1919 aboard HT Ascanius disembarking 23 March 1919 at Melbourne then by boat to Brisbane

Medals: British War Medal, Victory Medal

On 21 July 1936 John married Elizabeth Louisa Butler nee Stein in QLD.
