Alfred Eric Colson, was born in Quorn, in the mid-north of South Australia on the 6th of February in 1883.

Colson was 33 when he enlisted into the AIF on the 17th of January, 1916.

Colson was sent to France to fight with the 28th Infantry Battalion but, shortly after joining them, was killed in battle. A letter was sent home to inform his family of his death.
