Driver Norman Arthur Whittle (Service No:W13824) served with the ACMF from December 1941 to August 1942 and was attached to 121 Reserves Motor Transport Coy when he Discharged to enlist in the AIF. He served as a Private and Sapper (Service No:WX25199) in Borneo (Tarakan and Morotai; 28 March 1945 - 30 October 1945) with 26th Brigade 9th Division and was attached to 2/13 Field Coy RAE when he Discharged in November 1945.

Born in Perth, WA in 1917, Norman was the eldest of four children of Ernest William Whittle (b1892 in Melbourne, Victoria) and Louisa Lillian Huchinson (b1896 in Perth, WA). Edward (a Grocer) and Louisa married in 1917 in Perth WA. The couple lived in Jarrahdale and Perth where Ernest was a Clerk and Storekeeper before retiring to Rockingham.

Norman was a Cabinetmaker in Perth WA in 1941 when he married Silvia Jean Baker (b1920 in Perth, WA). Following his service in WWII, Norman and Silvia settled in Perth, WA where Norman was a Cabinetmaker. Norman and Silvia divorced in the late 1950s and Norman remarried Vivienne Beth Leask (b1929) in the late 1960s. Norman died in 2003 and Vivienne in 2014.
