HE DIED THAT WE MIGHT LIVE

A cablegram has been received by the parents of Lt. W. F. Sleeman, of 98 Albion street, Brunswick, that he has made the supreme sacrifice. Lt. Sleeman enlisted with the 5th  Battalion, and was wounded in the historic landing at Gallipoli. Later he gained his commission and joined the 9th royal Warwickshire Regiment. He served in Mesopotania, and  was transferred to the Royal Flying Corps last November. He was attached to the 55th Squadron as pilot and scout, and was killed in action on 31st May.
The deceased soldier was formerly a scholar of the Lydiard Street Methodist Sunday School.
