Campaigns Served:   Egypt

War Service/Promotions:  Norman was attached to the Depot Battalion until his embarkation. After

arriving in Egypt, he was admitted to the Government Hospital, Suez, with mumps on 1 July 1916, and then transferred to 1st A.D. Hospital, Abbassia, Egypt. By 23 July 1916, he was Taken on Strength Imperial Camel Corps, Abbassia, and then attached to the C.O. Australian Res. Imperial Camel Corps, on 29 July 1917. On 25 January 1917, Taken on Strength, 1 Anzac Battalion, Imperial Camel Brigade. On 25 October 1917, Norman was sent to 2nd Australian Stationary Hospital, Moascar, Egypt, with malaria, and then transferred to hospital in Serapeum, Egypt. Discharged to duty on 15 November 1917. Posted to 1st Battalion (Camel Corp.), Abbassia, on 31 December 1917. Admitted to hospital at Port Said, Egypt, on 25 May 1918 with malaria, until 25 June 1918. Marched out to Moascar, Egypt, on 4 July 1918. On that date marched in ex hospital to 5th Light Horse. On 24 July marched in to 4th Training Regiment, then to 11th Light Horse Regiment on 29 July 1918. Back to hospital with malaria on 9 November 1918 and again on 20 January 1919. Then invalided back to Australia.

Fate:   Returned to Australia per HMAT A14 Euripides, 16 March 1919. He married Nina Wellesley Chapman, 11 February 1925, St James', Turramurra, NSW.
