Son of John Ure and Jean Ure nee Buchanan of Gembrook North, Victoria.
25 February 1916 - enlisted at Pakenham, Victoria, with the Mobile Veterinary Section
17 May 1917 - transferred to the Australian Veterinary Hospital
22 March 1918 - transferred to the 4th Mobile Veterinary Section
27 May 1918 - 1st Australian Veterinary Evacuation Hospital
1 July 1919 - commenced return to Australia aboard HT Karmala disembarking on 17 August 1919

25 September 1919 - discharged at the 3rd Military District
