Biography contributed by Faithe Jones

Son of Peter and Sarah TAIT of 82 Mansfield Street, Northcote, Vic.

Private Robert Leckie Tait, of West Wyalong, N.S.W., formerly of Miepoll, has been killed in action in France, Private Tait was one of the many children  whom the late Mrs. Leckie "mothered," during the early years, his own mother having died in his infancy. Some years ago his father (Mr P. Tait) and family moved to New South Wales, where they have resided since.

In June 19th issue we reported that Robert Leckie Tait, son of Mr and Mrs Peter Tait, of West Wyalong, New South Wales, had been killed in action in  France, and today we chronicle the death of their second son, Sergeant Sam Tait, who was killed in action on 7th October. Much sympathy will be felt for  Mr and Mrs Tait (formerly of Miepoll) in this, their double bereavement.
