Mr James B Sharrock, who died at Hamilton on December 26, was a son of Mrs. M. A. and the late Mr. B. J. Sharrock, of Bessiebelle where he was born and spent his youth. He enlisted in the Great War, and sailed for overseas in October, 1915, as a member if the Light Horse. He was later transferred to the Supply Column A.S.C., and returned invalided in 1918. In 1919, he married Miss Kath Saunders, of Condah, and engaged in carpentering in the district.
Later, he took up a settlement block at Wickliffe, and there his health brook down and he returned to the Condah district. The fortitude with which he bore his long illness earned him the admiration of all who knew him. Mr. Sharrock is survived by his wife and two sons - Nicholas and Bert. - both if the A.I.F. The Rev. Mr. Prentice conducted the funeral service and returned soldiers, led by Mr. A. N. Black, paid their tributes of remembrance.
