Husband of Patricia PARKER nee DOYLE
Graduated from the University of Sydney in 1939 with Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery.
Richard Parker was the doctor at Kanyu 3 (Hellfire Pass). He has been described as the most important person at K3. He took care of the Anti Tankers amongst the other soldiers at K3. It was his decision who was fit enough to work each day. A totally uneviable job. Doing much the same as Weary Dunlop with no medicine or tools.
He travelled to Nagasaki Japan on the Raishin Maru, named by the passengers as the Byoki Maru, Sick Ship.
One month before the nuclear bomb, the whole group were moved to Fukuoka camp #21, at Nakama 50 km away.
He returned to Australia.
