Sergeant Reginald Spouse (Service No:NX140265) initially enlisted in the ACMF (Service No:N27112) and served with 8 Field Ambulance from 1 October 1941 to 27 July 1942. Sergeant Spouse served in the AIF with 8 Field Ambulance in New Guinea and Bouganiville and was Discharged on 12 March 1946.
Born in 1919 in York Western Australia, Reginald was the youngest of three children of Reginald Marshall Stow (b1862 in Felixstow, South Australia) and Gertrude Mary Sullivan (b1890 in Semaphore, South Australia). Reginald Snr was a Solicitor at Mt Morgan in Western Australia when he and Gertrude married in 1915 in York, Western Australia where they settled and Reginald Snr worked as a Solicitor until his death in 1920. In 1921 Gertrude remarried to Percival Claude Spouse (a Traveller) and the family moved to Sydney NSW.
In 1940, Reginald, a Shipping Clerk in Sydney NSW officially took the surname of his stepfather. Following his Discharge, Reginald was a Shipping Clerk in Sydney in 1948 when he married Mary (Marie) Therese Kerrigan (b1928 in Sydney, NSW). Following their Divorce, Reginald remarried in 1951 to Patricia (Jean) Schuback Smith (b1925 in Sydney, NSW). Reginald and Jean settled in Sydney where Reginald worked as a Clerk, Garage Proprietor and Salesman. Reginald died in 2000 and Jean in 2012.
