George was a Machinist in Melbourne, Victoria in March 1941 when he enlisted in the ACMF (Private; Service No:V67398). He was a Gunner attached to 10 Field Regiment when he was Discharged in December 1943 to 'return to Industry'. In August 1941 George married Marjorie Lorraine Mackay (b1918 in Melbourne, Victoria) - Marjorie was a Cardboard Boxmaker.
Born in 1913 in Melbourne Victoria, George was the eighth of ten children of Edward Charles Roberts (b1869 in Bendigo, Victoria) and Adela Lovie (b1875 in Tootgarook, Mornington, Victoria). Edward (a Draper) and Adela married in 1904 in Melbourne, Victoria where they raised their family. Edward worked as a Draper, Grocer and Salesman.
George and Marjorie settled in Melbourne, Victoria where George was a Machinist. He died in 1993 and Marjorie in 1997.
