Warrant Officer II Kenneth Royston Jeffery (Service Nos:N105206/NX134445) initially enlisted in the ACMF as a Private with 2 Field Butchery on 4 March 1941, and was a Staff Sergeant on 31 August 1942 'in the field' in Darwin NT when he transferred to the AIF. Warrant Officer II Jeffery was attached to 3 Field Butchery at Discharge on 6 August 1945.

Ken was born in Brisbane, QLD in 1901, eldest son of Gilbert (Kell) Kelly Jeffery (b1875 in Omeo, Victoria) and Alice Jane Brown (b1880 in Roma, QLD). Kell worked as a Journalist and Newspaper Editor in Charleville where, in 1900 he and Alice married. The couple lived in North QLD (Yuelba and Cairns) where Kell was a Newspaper Editor and Journalist before becoming a Horse Trainer. By 1914 the family had settled in Cowra, where they raised their family and Kell was a Newspaper Editor, then established himself as a Horse Trainer, travelling around Australia giving demonstrations of his revolutionary technique. Kell died in 1954 and Alice in 1967.

Ken started work as a Journalist, and in 1925 in Murwillumbah married Alma Jean Boulton (b1905 in Leichardt, New South Wales) - Alma was a Tailoress in Sydney. Ken and Alma lived in Wyangalla, Sydney, Awaba via Newcastle, Abbotsford - Ken sought work as a Labourer and was at times unemployed during the 1930s. Ken and Alma were living in Sydney, where Ken was a Slaughterman when he enlisted in the Army in 1941. The couple divorced in 1943 and Alma remarried the next year. Following his Discharge, Ken settled in Sydney, where he worked as a Printer until retirement. Ken died in 1979.
