Corporal Fawdry Heazlewood Kidd (Service No:TX10944) initially enlisted with the ACMF on 20 October 1941 (Gunner, Bombardier; Service No:T4870) and served with 16 Field Battery RAA and 6 Australian Field Regiment. He discharged on 9 August 1942 to enlist with the AIF. Corporal Kidd served with 16 Infantry Training Battalion and 6th Field Regiment, and was Discharged on 18 October 1945.
Born in 1916 in Launceston Tasmania, Fawdry was the youngest of three children (and only son) of Robert Alexander Kidd (b1875 in Launceston, Tasmania) and Charlotte Heazlewood (b1878 in Ulverstone, Tasmania). Robert (an Orchardist) and Charlotte married in 1908 in Deloraine, Tasmania and settled in Longford - following Robert's death in 1930, Charlotte moved with her children to Launceston, where she died in 1938.
Fawdry was a Clerk in Launceston when he enlisted in the Army. In 1944 in Launceston he married Eileen Fay Barrett (b1920 in Launceston, Tasmania) - Eileen was a Clerk in Launceston. Fawdry and Eileen settled in Emu Bay where Fawdry was an Accountant. Eileen died in 1993 and Fawdry in 2008.
