His brother, Private Ernest Bournes, aged 38, also fell. He was serving with the East Surrey Regiment, 4th Battalion,

Service Number 215730. He is interred at Fouquescourt British Cemetery (III. B. 10).

 They were sons of Emma Bournes of 1 Whitefield Rd., Tunbridge Wells and the late William Bournes, J. P.

The brothers are commemorated on the Tunbridge Wells War Memorial.
