Private Roy Leslie Eldredge (Service No:W48270) enlisted with the ACMF on 20 March 1942 and was attached to 2 (Fremantle) Battalion VDC when he was Discharged on 16 July 1944.

Born in 1906 in Beverley WA, Roy was the eldest of six children of John Thomas Eldredge (b1878 in Adelaide, South Australia) and Elfreda (Elf) Ann Bone (b1880 at Moonta Mines in South Australia). John (a Miner) and Elf married at Gwalia in 1902 and in 1912 the family settled in Perth WA where John worked as a Labourer and Carrier. 

Roy worked as a Cabinetmaker in Perth, and in 1930 in Albany WA he married Cecelia Bridget Kennedy (b1910 in Albany, WA). Roy and Cecilia settled in Parth WA where Roy worked as a Chairmaker/Cabinetmaker. Roy died in 1975 and Cecelia in 1999.
