Next of kin given as his cousin Margaret Ryan of Hunter Street, Abbotsford, Victoria.
Commenced return to Australia on 17 August 1916 as an invalid aboard HS Borda but deserted on arrival at Fremantle then re-embarked HT Marathon disembarking on 24 September 1919.
