Next of kin given as his brother Patrick Quinn of Brown Street, Glasgow, Scotland. 

Prior to coming to Australia he served for seven years with the 26th Cameronians in Scotland.

Imprisoned in the Hilfs-LLazarett Camp, Holfager, Madgeburg, Germany on 15 August 1916.

On 2 September 1916 he wrote while in Alten-Grabo he wrote requesting that a portion of his pay be allocated to a weekly parcel for a coat and other clothing as he had no friends in England.

Commenced return to Australia on 3 March 1919 aboard HT Euripides disembarking on 25 April 1919
