James William CAHLL was born on the 31st July 1885 in Moonta, South Australia to parents Thomas CAHILL and Annie HOGAN. James was the sixth born of 10 children.
He was married on the 25 March 1911 to Mary Jane Maude HENDY.
Together they had three children before James enlisted. Two sadly died in infancy.

1915 - 1915 Leslie
James enlisted on the 11th October 1915. Joining the 32nd Battalion, James joined the battle in France where he was wounded and taken prisoner on the 19th of July 1916. On the 3rd of August James died from his wounds at the Prisoner of war camp, St Clotilde, Douai, France.
Biography
Died as a POW in Germany from wounds sustained at the Battle of Fromelles July 19-20 1916.
