Son of William John BALDOCK and Catherine nee KEATING

Born 3 May 1896 in Parkside, known as Bill.He served in the First World War, enlisting at the age of 18, on 16 January 1915. On discharge 11 November 1918, he was a Private with the 27th Infantry Battalion. (2nd Machine Gun Battalion).

On 23 September 1920 he married Eileen Lily May Bobridge (1896-1957).

Twin sons were born prematurely on 1 February 1924 at Glenavon Nursing Home, Glenelg. One son, Jack, did not survive.

William and Eileen’s other twin, William Arthur (Bill) Baldock, went on to marry Marjorie June née Lynch (born 1925) in Nhill, Victoria in November 1946. Bill Baldock (junior)  served in the RAAF in the Second World War and died in Adelaide in May 2004. Marjorie died in Adelaide in August 2012. They had children Jen, Ian and Judy.

In 1941, Bill and his family lived at 3 Argyle Avenue, Richmond. Nina recalls that he lived in the next street over. He was a very handsome man.

He died 13 March 1965 and is buried St Jude’s Brighton, with Eileen (died 23 May 1957, aged 60 years).
