DARCY HENRY LONDON
DARCY HENRY LONDON (1896-1970) born at Kurrajong, son of Henry and Mary Jane London nee Turner. Darcy enlisted to serve in WW1, Private 3784, 1st Light Horse on November 20th 1917. Training was undertaken at the Sydney Showground Camp and Menangle Park. His unit sailed from Sydney on SS Ormonde on March 2nd, 1918 and landed at Suez. Promoted to Trooper and then Driver, after a spell in hospital he was graded back to Trooper. He was listed for return to Australia on December 26th, 1918. Trooper London embarked at Suez on HT Somali on February 26th, 1919 and received his discharge on December 19th, 1919. He was awarded the 1915-1918 Star, Victory Medal and British War Medal..
