Military Medal
'At ZILLEBEKE on 17th September 1917, Private Northey, whilst acting as Company Runner showed great courage in going to the assistance of a wounded man under heavy enemy shell fire. He remained under heavy fire, attended to the wounded man and carried him to a place of safety, thus saving the man's life at the risk of his own. Private Northey set a fine example of courage and devotion to duty. He has at all times stood out amongst his comrades in this respect, and has done consistently good work.'
