Private Leslie Norman Lynch (Service No:N279229) served with the ACMF from 1 August 1941 to 21 January 1946. Private Lynch had previously served four years with the 6th Light Horse Regiment  Dubbo Troop, and served with General Details Depot, 4 Horse Transport Coy and 21 Australian Works Coy. Private Lynch was attached to 3 Horse Transport Coy at Discharge.

Born in 1904 in Narromine NSW, Les was fourth of six children of Thomas Henry Lynch (b1877 in Terrick Terrick, Victoria) and Anne (Annie) Peake (b1878 in Spring Hill, NSW). Thomas (a Farmer) and Annie married in Dubbo in 1899 and settled in Narromine (Trangie and Wongarbon) where they raised their family and Thomas was a Farmer. Annie died in 1922, and Thomas died in 1929 - from blood poisoning resulting from a cut when shaving.

Les worked as a Shearer in Dubbo and was a Labourer when he enlisted in the ACMF. Les lived in Dubbo all his life, working as a Labourer. Les died in 1979.
