After the War
When Noel came home after the war, he and Kitty Browne were married in Perth After their wedding, which took place in Perth on the 1st August 1947. Helen Davies being Kitty’s Bridesmaid, and an army friend Peter Stubbs being Noels best man.
Kitty and Noel lived in the cottage at Maranup Ford for some time, as the Italian who was looking after Noel’s farm needed time to move out.
Then the Warrens moved into an even more primitive slab cottage on Noël’s farm at “Gregory Brook” until their new house was built. The new house was built of cement brick. The bricks were made of sand from the bank of the Black Wood River. They had a mixed farm including a dairy, sheep, and orchard of apples and peaches.
Noel and Kitty Warren had no children of their own, but were the guiding hand for so many nieces and nephews, friends, and acquaintances children. Whether it was through their love of horses and riding, Kitty’s association with Girl Guides. Their influence on young people, including myself, has been felt far and wide. Their love and care is a precious influence to many.
