Corporal Roy Vance Green (Service No:VX19974) enlisted in the Australian Army on 31 May 1940 and was attached to 2/61 Light Aid Detachment when he was Discharged on 17 December 1944.

Born in 1919 in Melbourne Victoria, Roy was the eldest of two children of Vance James Green (b1886 in Melbourne, Victoria) and Maud Duggan (b1891 in Wagga Wagga, NSW). Vance and Maud married in Melbourne in 1916 - Vance worked as a Labourer and Warehouseman prior to his service in WWI (Private; Service No:5612). Vance and Maud settled in Melbourne where Vance worked as a Clerk and Publicity Agent.

Roy was a Sheetmetal Worker in Melbourne, Victoria in 1945 when he married Ethel (Rene) Irene Bennetts (b1923 in Melbourne, Victoria). Roy and Rene settled in Melbourne where Roy was a Sheetmetal Worker, Baker and Slate Supplier/Roofer. Rene died in 1994 and Roy in 2003.
