Youngest of the three brothers who served in WWII, Craftsman Geoffrey Ivan Taylor (Service Nos:W7823/WX27890) served in the ACMF with 11th Battalion VDC (15 December 1941 - 19 July 1942) and in the AIF with 279 Light Aid Detachment - graded Fitter/Gunner - (20 July 1942 - 7 January 1946). Craftsman Taylor served in Darwin, NT (16 March 1943 - 15 September 1944) and New Guinea and New Britain (Lae, Bougainville, Jacquinot Bay; 15 September 1944 - 29 December 1945), and was attached to 279 Light Aid Detachment at Discharge on 7 January 1946.

Geoff was born at Southern Cross, Western Australia in 1910, fifth of six children of Hedley Stuart Taylor (b1877 in Wallaroo, South Australia) and Blanche (Cissie) Maude Smith (b1877 in Tarnagulla, Victoria). Hedley moved to Western Australia in the early 1900s, and was Bank Manager of the WA Bank in Lennonville via Coolgardie in 1903 when he and Cissie (a Domestic Servant in Perth) married in Perth. Hedley was Manager and Accountant with the WA Bank, and he and Cissie lived with their family in Lennonville, Coolgardie, Southern Cross, Yilgarn, Mt Magnet, Busselton and Ludlow. 

Geoff was working in Perth as a Bank Clerk in 1941 when he enlisted in the Army and married Aileen Mary Burkett (b1916 in Perth, Western Australia) - Aileen was a Kindergarten Teacher in Perth. Following his Discharge from the Army in 1946, Geoff and Aileen settled in Perth, where they raised their family and Geoff worked as a Bank Clerk. Aileen died in 1980 and Geoff in 1983.
