Captain Sydney George Heazlewood (Service No:T225) enlisted in the ACMF on 11 March 1941 and was attached to 22nd Light Horse when he was Discharged on 13 October 1942.
Born in 1904 at North Motton in Tasmania, Syd was the second of six children of Henry Heazlewood (b1872 at Port Sorrell, Tasmania) and Martha Louise Bramich (b1872 in Deloraine, Tasmania). Henry (a Farmer) and Martha married in 1899 in Deloraine and settled at North Motton where they raised their family and Henry was a Farmer.
Syd worked as a Farm Hand and then Farmer in North Motton, where in 1933 he married Lorna Mavis Wright (b1906 at Sprent, Tasmania). Following Lorna's death, in 1959 Syd remarried to Mavis Horden Brett (b1926 in North Motton, Tasmania). Syd and Mavis lived in North Motton, where Syd was a Farmer until his death in 1979. Mavis died in 2005.
