Merion Morton MORIARTY was born in Young, New South Wales in 1892

His parents were Merion MORIARTY & Annie Isabel MORTON who married in NSW in 1889 (registered in Goulburn)

He enlisted in Holdsworthy on 2nd November, 1915 & embarked with the 55th Infantry Battalion, 3rd reinforcements on the HMAT Barambah from Sydney on 23rd June, 1916

Merion was Killed in Action in Belgium on 12th March, 1918 & is buried in the Somer Farm Cemetery - his name is memorialised on the Australian War Memorial & the Memorial in Ypres, Flanders
