Lt Harrie Hind enlisted on 23 October 1941, later served as a Major with the 3rd Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (3RAR) in Korea and retired from the Army in June 1965 with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. Lt Rita Hind enlisted on 17 October 1941, served in the Middle East from 1941 to 1943 and was discharged in 1947.
