Private Francis Edward Morrison (Service No:VX139280) initially enlisted in the ACMF on 12 July 1941 (Trooper; Service No:V57356) and served with 3rd Division RAE, 15 Field Coy and 4th Light Horse Regiment Colac. Trooper Morrison was attached to 4 Australian Motor Regiment on 19 June 1943 when he transferred 'in the field' to the AIF - graded Driver Mechanic. Private Morrison was attached to 4 Australian Motor Regiment at Discharge on 4 July 1944.

Frank was born in Carpendeit, Victoria in 1910, second of three children of Edward Oswald Morrison (b1877 in Carpendeit, Victoria) and Jeanette Mabel Morgan (b1874 in Emerald Hill (Melbourne), Victoria). Edward (a Farmer) and Jeanette (a Teacher) married in 1908 in Carpendeit, Victoria where they settled and raised their family and Edward was a Farmer/Grazier.

Frank worked in Carpendeit as a Farmer prior to enlisting in the Army, and in 1947 in Bungador, married Phyllis Isobel Armistead (b1924 in Birregurra, Victoria). Frank and Phyllis settled in Carpendeit, where they raised their family and Frank was a Farmer. Frank died in 1994 and Phyllis in 2003.
