Private McKenzie George Pocknall (Service No:V23698) enlisted in the ACMF on 1 November 1940 and was attached to 13 Light Horse Regiment before transferring to 4 Docks Operating Coy on 23 September 1943. Private Pocknall served in New Guinea (4 September 1943 - 28 October 1944 and 7 April 1945 - 31 October 1945 and was Discharged on 12 April 1946.

Born in 1919 in Stratford Victoria, McKenzie was fifth of nine children of Leonard (Len) Albert Pocknall (b1884 in Dunedin, New Zealand) and Annie Maxwell (b1886 in Maffra, Victoria). Len (a Carpenter) arrived in Sydney in 1907 and he and Annie married in 192 at Stratford. They settled at Maffra where theyr aised their family and Len was a Carpenter. Five of their sons served in WWII.

McKenzie was a Farm Labourer in Tinamba, Victoria before enlisting in the ACMF in 1940. Following his Service, he returned to Tinambra where he worked as a Labourer before moving to Melbourne in the early 1960s and working as a Storemen with the Department of Supply. McKenzie retired to Sale, where he died in 1998.
