Archie served in the Devonshire Regiment (7 Jan 1907 – 9 Mar 1908), served in the Mexican Rebellion (early 1914), Australian Army (19 Aug 1914 – 6 Apr 1916) discharged due to bomb wounds received at Gallipoli , Australian Volunteer Defence Corp (12 Apr 1942 – 28 Sep 1943), US Army Services of Supply, South West Pacific Area, Small Ships Section (4 May 1944 – End of WWII).
