Colin was the fifth of eight children of James Henry Wilson (b1871 in Romsey, Victoria) and Elizabeth (Lizzie) Langdon Edwards (b1876 in Lancefield, Victoria). James - a Farmer - and Lizzie married in 1900 in Lancefield, Victoria. The family later moved to Alberton and Sunbury where James was a Dairy Farmer.
Colin was a Farmer in Sydenham, Victoria in 1933 when he married Florence (Floss) Nina Hughes (b1912 in Kellor, Victoria). By 1937 Colin and Floss had moved to Melbourne, Victoria where Colin was working as a Slaughterman. In June 1940 he enlisted in the Australian Army and was a Corporal (Service No:VX24012). He was attached to 2 Provost Coy (LoC) when he was Discharged in January 1943. Brothers-in-Law John (Jack) Frederick Hughes (Private; Service No:2026) and Albert Ernest Matcock (Private; Service No:3564) served in WWI and Leslie George Hughes (Corporal; Service No:VX20379), and John Garret Hughes (Private; Service No:VX11812) served in WWII.
Colin and Floss settled in Melbourne when Colin returned from the War - he worked as a Slaughterman and then as a Dry Cleaner before retiring in 1963. Colin died in 1969 and Floss in 2010.
