Son of William and Catherine BURRELL

LATE PRIVATE JOHN BURRELL.
On Monday morning the sad news was received in town that Pte. John Burrell, who had been on active service and was returning home wounded, had passed away in the Caulfield Military Hospital (Melbourne) from heart failure, following a sever attack of rheumatism. The deceased soldier, who only arrived back in Australia on Saturday, 12th inst, was well-known district resident, having  resided at Curra Creek for upwards of 30 years, and was 42 years of age. He enlisted in Molong and saw two years fighting. He was a married man with two children, who are left to mourn the loss,  of a brave and noble husband and fatlier. His brothers are (Messrs. William Burrell (Gilgandra), Albert Burrell (Wellington); sisters, Mrs Johnston (wife of the late Cpl. W. J. Johnston, killed in France), Mrs. McGuire (Singleton), Mrs. N. G. Eathcott (Auburn) whose husband is on active service. Mrs. J. Munro (Gollan), Mrs. G. A. Rich (Curra Creek).
