Add my storyBiography contributed by Stephen Brooks
Henry was almost 40 years of age when he enlisted, married to Winifred and the father of two small boys. Before enlistment he was employed at the Dunlop rubber mills for ten years. No details of his death are recorded and he has no known grave. All of his family received pensions after his death.
His brother, 1788 Pte Carl Leander Erickson served with the 58th Battalion and returned to Australia with illness in 1916. Another brother, 1885 Pte John Erickson served with the 59th Battalion and returned to Australia in 1919. They were the sons of Carl and Wilhelmina Erickson of South Melbourne, Victoria. The father, Carl Erickson was born in Finland and came to Australia in about 1869.
