Sergeant James Sinclair Lewis (Service No:W23992) enlisted in the ACMF on 26 February 1941 and was a Driver attached to 121 ARMT when he transferred to the AIF (Service No:WX30872) on 31 July 1942. He was a Sergeant attached to 121 RMT when he was Discharged on 17 March 1947. Brother Albert (Service No:WX12268) also served in WWII.

Born in 1915 in Perth WA, James was the third of six children of Albert Henry Lewis (b1887 in Perth, WA) and Jean McLeod (b1891 in Condah, Victoria). Albert (a Railways Employee) and Jean married in 1910 in Perth, WA where they settled and raised their family.

James worked as a Plasterer in Perth and in 1940 in Boulder WA married Edith Mavis Green (b1918 in Kalgoorlie, WA). James and Edith lived in Perth before relocating to Bridgetown WA after WWII. By the 1960s he and Edith were living in Bunbury where James was a Business Manager. James died in 1976 and Edith in 2017.
