Alfred was the only child of John Myles Morey (b1884 in Melbourne, Victoria) and Florence May Weston (b1885 in Perth, WA). John (a Postman) and Florence married in Perth WA in 1909 - John had arrived in Perth WA with his parents and siblings in the mid 1890s. John enlisted briefly in the AIF in 1917 (Private; Service No:7104) before being Discharged as Medically Unfit. John and Florence settled in Perth WA where John was a Postman.

Alfred was a Labourer (Timber Worker) in Perth WA in 1933 when he married Rona Myrtle Vernon (b1916 in Perth, WA). Alfred and Rona settled in Maylands, Perth WA where Alfred was a Timber Worker when he enlisted in the Australian Army in July 1941. He was a Private (Service No:WX15203) with 3rd and 1st Training Battlions and was Discharged as Medically Unfit in November 1941.

Alfred and Rona lived in Maylands, Perth WA where Alfred was a Timber Worker until his death in 1963. Rona died in 2005.
