Great Sydney Central Station Honour Board

Thomas Charles FERGUSON, (Service Number 4207) born in Wondalga, near Adelong, NSW, in 1893, joined the NSWGR as a junior porter at Illabo in 1911. In 1913 he was allotted to the Junee District, and in 1914 promoted to porter. In August 1915 he enlisted in the AIF at Cootamundra.

Between 19 and 20 July he was wounded in action in Franceand was admitted to a casualty clearing station on 22 July, where he died the following day. He was buried in Estaires Communal Cemetery.

Thomas Charles FERGUSON (Service Number 4207) was born in Wondalga, near Adelong, NSW, in 1893. He joined the NSW Government Railways as a junior porter at Illabo in 1911.  In 1913 he was allotted to the Junee District, and in 1914 promoted to porter. 

In August 1915 he enlisted in the AIF at Cootamundra.

He embarked from Sydney in December 1915. He travelled first to Egypt, where he was hospitalised for a fortnight with mumps.  He rejoined his unit at the end of March 1916. He was sent to France, where he landed at the end of June.  Between 19th and 20th July he was wounded in action and was admitted to a casualty clearing station on 22nd July. He died the following day.  He was buried in Estaires Communal Cemetery.  His widowed mother was granted a war pension.
