Frank was in a section with John Gibson and Goff Brown and their Sergeant was Don (Tubby) Agnew. They were good mates with John & Goff looking out for the younger Frank. All of them fondly remembered the times during their training on the Atherton Tablelands when they visited the very hospitable Alec & Edith Lawson in Mareeba. Goff was courting the younger daughter Floris.
After the war Frank became a statistican with the Commonwealth Government in Canberra. He married a lovely woman who had worked as a secretary at Parliament House. She spoke very fondly of PM Ben Chifley as a real gentleman. The couple had one son Ian.
Goff stayed in touch with Frank. In 1962 the Brown family caravanned from Maryborough Qld to Canberra to visit the Colwells. After Goff died in 1968 Frank remained in touch with Floris Brown (nee Lawson) until her death in 2013.
