Private Allan Sutherland (Service No:W40667) served in the ACMF from 29 January 1942 to 8 August 1942 with 13 Training Battalion. Private Sutherland was Discharged as medically unfit. His father William served in WWI and brother John in WWII.

Allan was born in 1912 in Bridgetown WA, eldest of three children of William Sutherland (b1881 in Gisborne, Victoria) and Florence Towie (b1891 in Lancashire, England) - Flornce had immigrated with her parents and siblings in 1906, arriving in Fremantle WA on board the Orontes. William (a Timber Hewer) and Florence married in 1913 in Blackwood WA, and following William's service in WWI, settled in Manjimup where William worked as a Timber Hewer and Billiard Marker and Florence was a Shopkeeper.

Allan was a Casual Worker in Manjimup in 1938 when he married Elsie Olive Tuck (b1918 in Blackwood. WA). Allan and Elsie settled in Manjimup where Allan worked as a Shop Assistant. Elsie died in 1988 and Allan in 1989.
