Biography

Cyril Thomas Brackly ILES was born in 1890 in Hamilton, Victoria

His parents were Thomas John ILES and Sarah BRAND

He enlisted in Melbourne on 12th July, 1915 with the Australian Army - 23rd Battalion 4th Reinforcements - Unit embarked from Melbourne on HMAT Osterley on 29th September 1915

He was Killed in Action on 4th August 1916 at Poziers, Somme, France - No Known Grave - he is commemorated on the Australian National Memorial , Villers Bretonneux, France and also on the Australian War Memorial

He was awarded the 1914-15 Star, British War Medal & Victory Medal
