Biography contributed by Paul Trevor

'MISSING SOLDIER.

Private White has not been heard from since April 19. Right up to that time he wrote regularly to his mother. Private advices, however, state that he landed at Gaba Tepe on April 25, and was wounded about two days later. The defence authorities have been repeatedly approached concerning his whereabouts, and inquiries have also been made through other channels, but so far no trace of him has been found. Mr. D. Hazelwood, of Culwulla Chambers, Castlereagh Street, who has Interested himself in the matter on behalf of the soldier's mother, Is hopeful that letters received by relatives of other soldiers might contain some reference to him. Private White Is 23 years of age, and prior to going to the war was In the service of the Registrar-General's Department.' from The Daily Telegraph 4 Sep 1915 (nla.gov.au)
