Personal Stories
Post War years
Discharged 15 January 1946 in Melbourne, at 21 years of age, after surviving being hit by anti-aircraft fire and crashing into the open seas of Makassar Straight off Borneo behind enemy lines on 1 July 1945.
Worked variously as a taxi driver and sales representative, raced motorcycle scrambles and speedway through the late 1940's up to mid 1950's.
Moved to Adelaide and started a family in 1956.
After that it gets complicated.
