Son of Alexander Urquhart and Susan Urquhart of 'Willuri Farm', Kelvin via Gunnedah, NSW.
9 November 1914 - enlisted at Mitchell, QLD with the 5th Light Horse Regiment with the rank of Private.
8 October 1915 - promoted to Shoe Smith Corporal
10 December 1915 - promoted to Farrier Corporal
15 November 1918 - commenced return to Australia aboard HT Port Darwin disembarking on 26 December 1918

26 February 1919 - discharged at the 1st Military District
