Leading Aircraftman William Thomas Peek (Service No:163168) enlisted in the RAAF as an Aircraftman I at 2 RD - mustered as a Trainee Technical and remusterd as a Flight Rigger. ACI Peek served at No 7 Aircraft Depot in 1944 and was promoted to LAC on 7 January 1945. LAC Peek was attached to 7 Operational Training Unit at Discharge on 21 December 1945.
Born in 1913 in Wellington NSW, Bill was the eldest of four children of William (Billy) Thomas Peek (b1886 in Ironbark, NSW) and his first wife Susan Elizabeth Wilson (nee Dora; b1877 at Gibsons Station, Macquarie River, NSW). Billy (a Fettler) and Susan (a Widow) married abt 1913 in Narromine, NSW and settled in Wellington where they raised their family and Billy was a Fettler. Following Susan's death in 1923, Billy remarried in Nyngan and lived in Bathurst, NSW with his family until his death in 1934.
Bill - aka Wilson - signed a Statutory Declaration whilst in the RAAF, stating that he was known under both Peek and Wilson, and preferred to be use Peek. Bill worked as a Labourer and Motor Mechaninic in Nyngan NSW and in 1944 was a Machinist at the Small Arms Factory in Bathurst. In 1935 in Blayney NSW, Bill married Margaret Dorcas Creasy (b1913 at Trunkey Creek, NSW) - Bill and Margaret settled in Bathurst until they separated in the mid 1940s and Margaret moved to Woolongong, NSW where she died in 1962. Following his Discharge from the RAAF, Bill settled in Sydney, NSW where he worked as a Cellarman and remarried in 1962 to Elva Jean Donovan (nee Kelland; b1911 in Bombala, NSW) - Elva was Divorced in 1947 and worked in Sydney as a Forewoman. Bill and Elva settled in Sydney, where Bill worked as a Cellarman and ELva as a Machinist. Bill died in 1974 and in the 1980s Elva moved to Adelaide, South Australia where she died in 1995.
