Leading Aircraftman Colin John Doyle (Service No:71928) enlisted in the RAAF on 27 October 1942 at No 2 Recruiting Centre Sydney as Aircraftman I - mustered as Mechanic and re mustered as Fitter. LAC Doyle served in Japan with British Occupation Forces in February/April 1946, and was attached to 93 (Attack) Squadron at Discharge on 28 May 1946.

Colin (aka Dobbin) was born in Coogee, Sydney NSW in 1924, youngest of three children of John (Jack) Elwyn Doyle (b1901 at Peak Hill, NSW) and Caroline Annie Crowhurst (b1903 at Peak Hill, NSW). Jack and Caroline married in Sydney in 1922, and in 1924 settled at Tullamore via Trundle NSW, where they raised their family (second son Bobbie died there in 1927) and Jack was a Farmer. In the early 1940s Jack and Caroline managed the Central Hotel in Orange. By 1946 Jack was a Bookmaker in Orange - where remained when Jack moved to Sydney and worked as a Labourer.

Colin worked in Sydney as a Clerk for Tooheys Ltd before enlisting in the RAAF. Following his Discharge, Colin returned to Sydney and was working as a Clerk in 1951 when he married Ruth Tuthill Friend (b1928 in Sydney, NSW) - Ruth was working as a Typist. Colin and Ruth lived in Sydney, where Colin worked as a Clerk, until the late 1950s when they moved to Tomingley via Peak Hill - Colin was a Hotelkeeper (Cross Roads Hotel). By 1963 Colin and Ruth had moved to Uralla, where Colin was Club Manager, moving back to Sydney by 1968. Colin worked as Secretary Manager in Ryde and then in Davistown, where Ruth died in 1984 and Colin in 2015.
