Leading Aircraftman Rex Avon Kelly (Service No:84081) served in the RAAF from 11 December 1943 to 8 March 1946. LAC Kelly was attached to 25 Squadron at Discharge.

Rex was the ninth of twelve children, born in 1925 in Pemberton, WA to Oswin (Oss) John Kelly (b1892 in Warragul, Victoria) and Amy (Nita) Juanita Lawrence (b1892 in Bunbury, WA). Oss was in Donnybrokk, WA with his parents and siblings by 1898, and was a Labourer in Greenbushes WA in 1910 when he and Nita married. Oss worked as a Teamster and later Firrer's Assistant at State Mills in Greenbushes, Manjimup, Jardee, Blackwood and Pemberton. Oss was killed in an accdent in the Pemberton bush in 1934, and Nita died in 1957.

Rex worked as a Mill Hand in Pemberton, and in 1950 in Blackwood WA he married Louise Jocelyn Ellis (b1929 in Pemberton, WA). Rex and Louise settled in Pemberton where they raised their family and Rex worked as a Mill Hand and Pine Faller. Rex died in 2014 and Louise in 2016.
