Son of William and Sarah Lawlor of 'The Oaks' Buxton, Victoria. Brother of Robert Byron Lawlor who was killed in action on 4 October 1917 while serving with the 22nd Battalion and William James Lawlor who returned to Australia on 3 July 1919 having served with the 8th Light Horse Regiment
